Care Instructions after Root Canals
Care Instructions after Root Canals
1. If you received an injection, please try to avoid eating on that side until the anesthetic wears off to prevent injury to your mouth. The injection site may feel sore for several days. Tylenol or Advil may help with discomfort.
2. It is very common to have some mild discomfort after Root Canal Treatments. Discomfort on chewing is normal and should abate within 1 week. Please avoid biting on the treated tooth until symptoms resolve.
3. If we prescribed antibiotics, please take the full course EVEN IF THE TOOTH FEELS NORMAL.
4. Please keep in mind root canal treatment only takes care of the nerve. The tooth needs to be crowned or filled shortly after the root canal, or it may continue to decay or fracture and may need to be extracted.
5. We guarantee our root canal treatments for a period of 5 (five) years and will redo them at no charge or credit the amount towards other needed treatment so long as you maintain your regularly scheduled check-up and cleaning appointments, and continue with the recommended treatment for this tooth.
PLEASE NOTE FAILURE TO RETURN FOR YOUR RECOMMENDED RECALL EXAMINATIONS (AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR, BUT MAY VARY ACCORDING TO YOUR INDIVIDUAL NEEDS) OR NOT FILLING OR CROWNING THE TOOTH AS RECOMMENDED VOIDS THIS WARRANTY.
